A twenty-fold increase in manufacturing was the goal of the Croatian automobile cosmetics firm Alfa Car. To achieve this, the entire production cycle, housed in a brand new manufacturing plant, was automated. Festo supplied a whole solution for more than 200 process valves – together with project management.
A number of totally different merchandise together with water, alcohol, glycerine, surfactants, oleic and acetic acids, sodium hydroxide and potassium hydroxide are saved, transported, blended and bottled for the production of car cosmetic products. This requires complex process automation solutions. เพรสเชอร์เกจ has taken a giant step into the longer term: whereas constructing a model new manufacturing plant, the complete production cycle was totally automated, from the raw materials to the bottling line for the finished products. One point of focus was the seamless automation of the method valves.

Customised full resolution
To address the challenge, the corporate worked along with the system integrator Arp Lučko and Festo. It would be Festo’s role to project handle the automation of the process valves. To guarantee quick integration into the new system and most reliability in the future production process, customised full options have been provided that cover the entire range, from the method valve items to the valve terminals. When choosing the mandatory elements, explicit consideration needed to be paid to the potentially explosive setting.
Reliability counts
The communication between a lot of different automated ball valves and the new plant’s higher-level management system was also decisive for optimum course of automation. This requirement was met by a reliable resolution with six valve terminals type VTUG with PROFINET bus connection. More than 200 ball valves from totally different producers may be fully automated in this means. Using a single supply for the ball valve answer took the stress off both Alfa Car and Arp Lučko when it got here to designing and putting in the new system. The intensive coordination of the various process valve suppliers, which Festo handled as part of its project administration transient, also made the project simpler.
