Flender is expanding the portfolio of its versatile coupling series N-Eupex by introducing three new types. The new merchandise permit customers additional flexibility in their techniques without shedding the compact design and high load capacity of a pin coupling.
The new N-Eupex ERN is equipped with a torque limiter, which offers even more
safety in the drivetrain in many applications. The coupling variant permits users to
specify a most torque in order that crucial torques for the motor and output machine
aren’t transmitted. Machines and techniques are protected from overload and
harm, thus considerably rising system availability.
With the N-Eupex B plus clamping element, Flender introduces a second new
coupling that ensures frictionally engaged clamping connections. In this case, the
plain, cylindrical machine shaft finish is linked to the coupling hub via a clamping
connection without a feather key and repair capacity is increased. For example,
meeting or replacement of worn elastomers can be carried out far more easily.
No connecting machine components have to be moved, the time required is halved
and so is the downtime of the machine.
With the N-Eupex DKS, a brand new double-cardanic coupling is introduced as a “short
version” into Flender’s modular system. While the DK type, which was launched in
2020, addresses the pump market with commonplace expansion pieces for normed shaft
distances, the DKS is the shortest potential double-cardanic resolution for the market.
The shortened total length enables cost-optimized use with a small shaft distance
dimension without dropping some great benefits of a double-cardanic coupling connection.

to the beforehand used rubber components made from NBR, Flender now additionally presents
elastomers made from thermoplastic polyurethane (TPU). Following the torque
enhance for all N-Eupex couplings with NBR packings in 2020, the usage of TPU
packings allows the power density to be increased by another 20 % on
average. For sizes 300 and above, the acquainted NBR elastomer is combined with
material inserts and the torque capacity is once more raised.
“With a view to the long custom of cam couplings, our improvement engineers are
systematically engaged on increasing the variety of combinations even further. The
2022 enhancements give our customers a broad range of sustainable choices for
optimizing their machines and techniques much more and decreasing maintenance,”
explains André Artmann, Head of Coupling Sales.
